Interview: Producer Naga Vamsi –  Lucky Baskhar is a family drama with thrilling elements

In a recent conversation, producer Naga Vamsi expressed his confidence and excitement for the upcoming release of Lucky Baskhar, directed by Venky Atluri and starring Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary. Here are some highlights from the interview:

Q: Lucky Baskhar has high expectations even before its release. How does that feel?

Naga Vamsi: It’s truly gratifying. Some films give a deep sense of fulfillment even while making them, and Lucky Baskhar is one of those. We’re so confident in it that we decided to hold premiere shows.

Q: Why did you choose to have premieres for this film?

Naga Vamsi: We believe the film will create strong positive word-of-mouth. The response so far has been so encouraging that we’ve increased the number of premiere shows. If the feedback is positive, we’re expecting a strong opening.

Q: What makes your collaboration with Venky Atluri special?

Naga Vamsi: Some collaborations are built on trust and go beyond success or failure. Venky is a director I trust, which is why we’re working on multiple projects together.

Q: Can you share a bit about the film’s story?

Naga Vamsi: The story explores how far someone will go in the pursuit of money. Set against a banking backdrop, it blends family drama with thriller elements. Within the first 10 to 15 minutes, viewers are fully immersed in Baskhar’s world.

Q: What makes Baskhar’s character relatable?

Naga Vamsi: Baskhar is a character that everyone will root for. He progresses in life using his wit and intelligence, without taking advantage of anyone. This makes him relatable and likable.

Q: Does Lucky Baskhar have a message?

Naga Vamsi: It’s not a message-driven film. Lucky Baskhar is unique in Telugu cinema, featuring strong commercial elements and holding the audience’s attention without action sequences. Our editor Naveen Nooli, who is typically hard to impress, praised the film. Both Trivikram and I are very confident in its success.

Q: Any final words for the audience?

Naga Vamsi: Wishing everyone a happy Diwali! Celebrate with your family by watching Lucky Baskhar. I also wish all the films releasing this Diwali great success.

With Lucky Baskhar, Naga Vamsi is hopeful that the film’s engaging narrative, relatable characters, and commercial appeal will win the hearts of audiences, making this Diwali extra special.
