The shoot is currently underway in Kakinada. During this crucial schedule, the team plans to shoot a talkie and an action film with a prominent cast. The poster released by the makers shows Varun Tej lying on his back with a gun in front of a cruise ship at Kakinada port.
Matka is set in a historical backdrop and the team has tried hard to give it a retro feel. The film spans a period of 24 years, from 1958 to 1982, and will feature Varun Tej in several different incarnations. The film stars Meenakshi Choudhury and Nora Fatehi in the lead roles. Matka is shaping up to be a milestone project for Varun Tej.
GV Prakash Kumar will compose music and A Kishore Kumar will handle the cinematography. Karthika Srinivas R is the editor of the film.
