As a child actor…
Inspired by his father Krishna as a hero, producer and director, Mahesh entered the film industry at an early age with the film Needa. He acted in films such as Poratam, Shankharavam, Bazaar Rowdy, Mugguru Kodukulu, Gudhachari 117, Kodukudiddina Kapuram, Annathammudu and Balachandradudu which earned him recognition as well as fame for his ability and talent.
Career As A Hero
Mahesh started his film journey as a hero with the movie Rajkumarudu. Produced by Ashwinidutt and directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, Mahesh won appreciation as well as success as an actor in his debut film. He also won his first Nandi Award as a debut hero with this film. After Mahesh’s Yuvaraju and Vamsi films, Murari introduced Mahesh as a performer. The film not only received praises from the audience but also from the critics. With the success of this film, Mahesh became the primary choice not only for the directors of commercial films but also for those who want to make different films. After doing experimental films like Takkari Donga and Bobby, The film that turned the career of Mahesh is Okkadu. This cult classic directed by Gunasekhar established Mahesh as a star hero. In the film, Nijam established another dimension of Mahesh as an actor. Also, he tried an experimental movie like Nani. He was then impressed with a commercial movie like Arjun. He won the Nandi Award for this film also.
Mahesh has shifted gears from Athadu film. He has given priority to subjects with heroism along with uniqueness in the story. Everyone is aware about how successful the film Athadu was when it was released in theatres as well as in television too. Pokiri movie directed by Puri Jagannath turned out as an Industry Hit and turned Mahesh as the superstar. Later, Mahesh who entertained the audience with the films Atidhi, Sainikudu and Khaleja, once again scored an industry hit with the film Dookudu and it showcased his super stardom at the boxoffice. He then delivered another blockbuster with Businessman.
Also, in today’s generation of heroes, Mahesh is the one who has started doing multi-starrer films. Mahesh did Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimallechettu movie which was released for Sankranti which with Venkatesh laid a path for multi starters with its super success. Later, Mahesh entertained his fans with a commercial like Aagadu and a top technical movie like One Nenokkadine. Apart from commercial format films, Mahesh made experimental movies and also gave a lot of attention to message oriented films. He acted in films like Srimanthudu, Maharshi and also patriotic films like Sarileru Neekevvaru. Later, he delivered money spinners at the box office with commercial films like Sarkaru Vari Pata and Guntur Karam.
Film With Rajamouli
Currently, Mahesh is busy with the Pan World movie which is going to be made with director Rajamouli. It will be a forest adventure with the highest ever budget for an Indian film. Mahesh underwent a complete changeover in his look for #SSMB29. The pre-production work of the film is going on at a fast pace.
Kind Hearted Superstar
Like his father Krishna, Mahesh is very active in social service programs apart from films. Just like in the movie Srimanthudu, in real life too Mahesh adopted two villages and became a role model for all. Also, Mahesh has become a real hero by performing heart operations for more than a thousand children through the Heal a Child Foundation. In addition to donating crores of rupees to both the Telugu states during the Corona period, he also donated lakhs of rupees for the Telugu film workers.

Mahesh started the GMB Entertainments banner and produced films like Srimanthudu and Sarileru Neekevvaru.
